Scope of Work
To uphold and elongate the production from the oil field “Njord”, the installed platform and storage vessels needed to undergo upgrade at shore. GM assisted Equinor and its partners with multiple campaigns for this project.
The scope of work encompassed multiple campaigns at the Njord site.
- Njord A (semi) and Njord B (FSO) tow to shore
- Njord B STL buoy recovery for refurbishment
- Installation of fibre optic cable to the Njord field
- Recovery of old power cable between Njord A & Njord B
- Re-installation of Njord B STL buoy
- Installation of new suction anchors
- Pre-Installation of additional mooring lines
- Tow-out Njord A and Njord B and hookup to mooring arrangements
Challenges
Lifetime extension projects are often challenging as the condition of equipment and the need for potential replacements become apparent as the works progress.. A philosophy for the project was to re-use as much of the original equipment as possible, and therefore careful handling was necessary in all stages of the operation.
Outcome
Global Maritime’s contribution to this project was largely done by use of CPI supplied vessels, saving significant vessel cost for the client.
