Decarbonisation
Solutions for a changing energy world

Driving sustainable change
The offshore and maritime industries are evolving, driven by the adoption of renewables, low carbon and zero carbon fuels, and changing regulatory expectations.
At Global Maritime, we help clients respond to these developments with practical, future-focused services that reduce safety and environmental risk, reduce emissions, which enables a safer, lower-carbon, and more resilient energy future.
Partnering in the journey to Net Zero
We are proud to align our ambitions with the global effort to combat climate change and have set a target of Net Zero by 2050, in line with the Paris Agreement. As a participant of the UN Global Compact, we not only pursue our own goals but also partner with clients to help them achieve theirs. We provide clients with the expertise, innovation, and assurance needed to accelerate their progress toward safer, cleaner, and more efficient energy operations.

How we support
the industry
Renewable energy development
We support renewable energy projects, particularly offshore wind, by providing design, engineering, and project management services from early concept through decommissioning.
Reducing emissions in marine operations
Through a blend of technology and expertise, we help clients minimise fuel use and lower greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions:
- OPSIM software for advanced logistics optimisation
- Dynamic positioning (DP) advisory to maximise fuel efficiency and reduce emissions
- You can object to us processing your data where it is conducted under a legitimate interest basis.
Assurance and
risk reduction
Through our independent marine warranty, assurance, and verification services we help clients reduce operational risk and operate more safely and efficiently – ensuring environmental compliance and supporting the transition to lower-carbon operations.

Low carbon marine solutions
We provide advisory services for vessel modifications and new builds, guiding clients through electrification, hybridisation, shore power integration, and the use of alternative fuels. We also advise on IMO carbon pricing and emerging decarbonisation technologies to future-proof operations.
Our experts
in action

Hywind Offshore Wind
Scotland, UK
The Hywind Scotland MCE project utilized GM Opsim analysis to synchronize complex offshore operations with real-time planning across inshore assembly, tow, and field commissioning sites. This integrated approach allowed for dynamic resource optimization and the verification of high-impact mooring methods within the challenging North Sea environment.
- Synchronized interdependencies across three distinct operational sites to align simulations with real-world execution.
- Mitigated weather-related downtime and logistical complexities through flexible, data-driven planning.
- Validated a new mooring disconnection and connection method that yielded substantial vessel day savings.
- Enabled better prioritization and sequencing of activities via accurate weather-impact forecasting.
- Achieved a minimum saving of 40 vessel days, significantly reducing costs and carbon emissions.
