Greater Tortue Ahmeyim Development
Mauritania and Senegal
The bp operated liquefied natural gas (LNG) project, located on the maritime border of Senegal and Mauritania, comprises a subsea production system tied back to a pre-treatment Floating Production, Storage and Offloading (FPSO) unit, which subsequently transfers gas to a nearshore HUB for a Floating Liquified Natural Gas (FLNG) vessel to condition gas for export via LNG carrier vessels.
- Maneuvering, berthing, and mooring of the 294m Golar Gimi FLNG at the HUB
- Vessel received at handover location and guided to berth
- Five Saipem harbour tugs deployed for controlled positioning
Outcome:
- 26-line mooring system installed, conventional and dampened
- High-strength nylon, aramid, and steel configuration
- Final positioning achieved within 300mm tolerance
