Scope of Work

Global Maritime provided Marine Warranty Survey (MWS) risk prevention services across its global operations in support of the Borouge 4 critical cargo transportations for the infrastructure project. This new-build polymers refinery, one of the largest industrial undertakings in the UAE, is being developed by Borouge on behalf of ADNOC and Borealis. The facility will increase production capacity by 1.4 million tonnes, making it the world’s largest single-site polyolefin complex. The project supports global demand for advanced polyolefin solutions across energy, infrastructure, and packaging sectors, while contributing to UAE’s economic diversification and industrial growth.

Challenges

The scale and complexity of the Borouge 4 project present significant logistical and technical challenges, including coordination of critical cargo movements, compliance with stringent safety and quality standards, and integration of risk mitigation strategies across multiple international interfaces. The installation of the world’s largest Borstar® gas phase reactor further underscores the project’s engineering demands.

Outcome – Results and Deliverables

Global Maritime’s MWS oversight has supported safe and compliant execution of critical cargo operations.
