Scope of Work

The Tilenga Project involves the development of an onshore oil field in Uganda’s Lake Albert Basin, targeting production of up to 200,000 barrels per day. The project includes 31 well pads connected to a central processing facility (CPF) via buried flowlines. CB&I was awarded the EPCC contract for the CPF. Global Maritime was engaged to provide Marine Warranty Survey (MWS) services for the safe loadout, transportation, and discharge of project cargo from multiple global locations. This required consistent oversight across several regions to ensure compliance with marine warranty standards and the safe execution of all transport activities.

Challenges

The project presented several challenges, including frequently shifting vessel schedules, which made forward planning difficult and required constant flexibility. The need to deploy surveyors to remote locations without established local offices introduced logistical complexity and coordination issues. Additionally, tight timelines around vessel arrivals meant resources had to be allocated quickly and efficiently, all while maintaining the expected standards of safety and quality.

Outcome – Results and Deliverables

Global Maritime successfully aligned Marine Warranty Survey coverage with vessel movements by leveraging a strong regional surveyor network and thorough advanced logistical planning. Despite the complexities of remote operations and evolving schedules, we maintained consistent support at key ports of loading and discharge. Our marine team provided technical oversight, ensuring deliverables met internal quality standards and client expectations. The project remained on schedule, and our ability to adapt and coordinate effectively continues to play a key role in the project’s ongoing success.
