Fish farm concept & design

Designing for inshore and offshore conditions presents a unique set of challenges. Our engineers begin with a thorough analysis of the location – evaluating wave height, water depth, currents, and seabed characteristics to define precise design criteria. Using advanced modelling techniques, we rigorously test concepts against the forces of wind, waves, and ocean dynamics to ensure structural integrity, operational reliability, and long-term performance.

System integration

Offshore fish farms demand seamless integration of all marine systems, including logistics and fish handling.

Ocean Farm 1
Norway

The world’s first large scale offshore fish farm Ocean farm 1 is a pioneering offshore fish farming concept. The design was the first Offshore Fish Farm to be approved by the Norwegian authorities.

This innovative concept involved many suppliers in the project. The unit was constructed in China and installed on location in 2017. Our role was to provide main engineering and support from conceptual idea until installation in Norway (2013 – 2017).
